Many people in West Africa consider farming for the poor and the uneducated, yet in civilised nations elsewhere, people with farms/ranches are considered as rich people, unlike here in West Africa.

According to UN reports, West Africa remains one of the world’s 50 poorest areas based on indices like per capita income (38% of West Africa’s people live on less than one dollar per day), health and nutrition, life expectancy, and, critically, volumes of agricultural production and export.

We started our efforts in Tanzania by financing a model farm. The farm will initially be small (4 acres) and focus on growing onions.

In our second agricultural venture we are working with GoBigHub in growing pumpkin and cabbages as well as rearing pigs.

In the future we hope to engage with entrepreneurial certified professionals, local communities or landowners to jointly share in the development of more micro businesses in model farming. The model is almost infinitely extendable to any community.

Any locally based certified entrepreneurs are welcome to contact us .

Retrain the farming community on best practice in agriculture to overcome the dying knowledge of basic farming.

Demonstrate to the community that agriculture can be profitable and not just subsistence.

Open a joint venture with:

an entrepreneurial certified professional in agriculture

         the local community/landowner

         tool/fertilizer supplier

to create and run a model farm with the community youth as apprentices providing the labour.

Project is infinitely extendable to every community

Yr 1 – set up the farm (1/3 apprentices, 2/3 local labour)

Yr 2 – operate the farm (2/3 apprentices)

Yr 3 – all apprentices

Yr 4 – 1st apprentices leave to spread their learning, a further set of apprentices taken on.
